Red Oak

- Grows more than two feet per year for 10 years
- Provides great fall color, with leaves turning russet-red to bright redIs easier than most to transplant
- Features alternating leaves that are 4–8" long and have 7–11 waxy, spine-tipped lobes
- Produces pale yellow-green catkins that appear at about the same time new foliage is expanding, typically April–May
- Yields acorns that are round and ¾–1" long with a flat, thick, saucer-like cap
- Offers great shade due to a dense crown
- Tolerates pollution and compacted soilGrows in a rounded shape

Cedar Elm

- Height: Up to 75 feet tall
- Trunk: Tall, straight trunk measuring 2–3 feet in diameter
- Branches: Stiff, sturdy branches
- Crown Shape: Narrow, oblong crown formed by the branching structure

Lacebark

- Works well as a street tree due to its ability to grow in adverse conditions and relative freedom from the diseases, affecting many other elm species
- Features distinctively exfoliating bark with a mottled pattern, often with shades of brown, gray, green, and orange
- Produces dark, glossy green leave that are ¾–2" long with serrate leaf margins
- Provides fall color that ranges from yellow to purple and is better than other elms
- Yields oval, brown fruit best described as a notched, elliptical wing up to ½" long with a small seed in the center
- Grows in a rounded shape

Bur Oak

- Offers dense shade
- Tolerates pollution and heat stress
- Features alternating leaves that are 6–12" long with 5–9 lobes separated about halfway down by a pair of particularly deep sinuses
- Yields acorns that are larger than most others, with a conspicuously fringed cap that extends about halfway down the nut
- Lives for more than 200–300 yearsIs also known as the mossycup oak
- Grows in a rounded shape
- Is difficult to transplant

Bald Cypress

- Is a deciduous conifer
- Features short needles arranged in pairs along slender branchlets; their coloring ranges from yellow-green in spring to soft green in summer to reddish- or orangish-brown in autumn
- Yields cones that appear as little globes approximately 1" in length that contain triangular seeds and are attractive to wildlife
- Grows in a pyramidal shape
- Adapts well to wet and dry conditions
- Develops “cypress knees” only in wet conditions

Desert Willow

A small tree to 25 feet tall and a trunk to 12" in diameter, with a curving, irregular branching habit and an open, airy crown of foliage.

Austrian Pine

- Is very hardy
- Works well for windbreaks
- Tolerates adverse soil conditions and air pollution
- Features dark green needles grown in bundles of two that sometimes curve or twist slightly; they are 3–6" long and persist for 4–8 years, giving the tree its dense crown
- Produces somewhat oval, light brown cones that are 2–4" in length; each scale is tipped with a small prickleIs also known as the European black pine
- Grows in an oval shape

Blue Atlas Cedar

- Large, showy evergreen conifer in the pine family (Pinaceae)
- Waxy coating on the needles gives the tree its distinctive steely blue color
- Frequently used as a specimen tree in landscapesFeatures an open, pyramidal growth habit
- Lower branches spread to about half the height of the tree
- Best grown with ample space and minimal pruning to showcase its natural form
- Displays an irregular, open pyramidal shape from top to bottom
- The specific epithet glauca refers to its blue-colored needles
